Preservation New Jersey (PNJ) is pleased to support and sponsor the 2026 Student Poster Session at the 2026 NJ History & Historic Preservation Conference, an initiative that closely aligns with our mission to advance historic preservation education and to engage the next generation of preservation professionals.
The Poster Session provides an important platform for undergraduate students, graduate students, and emerging professionals (those who have graduated within the past two years) to present project-based work in historic preservation, history, archaeology, architecture, planning, museum studies, and public history. By emphasizing creative, visual storytelling, the session encourages participants to share research where material culture, the built environment, and visual evidence play a central role.
As an organization committed to preservation education, PNJ recognizes the value of creating opportunities that foster professional development, critical thinking, and public engagement. Presenting at the Poster Session allows students and early-career professionals to gain conference experience, explore career pathways, network with peers and mentors, and contribute meaningfully to conversations shaping the future of preservation.
In support of these goals, Preservation New Jersey is proud to sponsor the 2026 Poster Session at this years Conference and will award monetary prizes to the top three posters:
- First Place: $750
- Second Place: $500
- Third Place: $250
These awards are intended to recognize outstanding scholarship, creativity, and contributions to the fields of history and historic preservation, while encouraging continued involvement in preservation work.
We encourage eligible students and emerging professionals to submit proposals and take advantage of this opportunity to share their work with a wider audience.
