May 13 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free

Join Preservation New Jersey for the 2026 10 Most Endangered Historic Places Program announcement, highlighting New Jersey’s irreplaceable historic, architectural, cultural, and archaeological sites at risk of being lost. This annual event shares the stories of endangered places, showcases preservation efforts, and offers lessons from both successful restorations and ongoing challenges.

Attendees will hear from site stewards and community advocates of the 2026 nominations. Food and drinks will be provided, and the program will serve as a networking opportunity for preservation professionals, community leaders, and history enthusiasts.

About the event location:

The Monmouth Boat Club was listed on PNJ’s 2025 10 Most Endangered Historic Places.

The Monmouth Boat Club, listed on the National and New Jersey Registers of Historic Places, is one of the oldest yacht clubs in the U.S. and the last surviving 19th-century waterfront structure on the Navesink River. Built on wooden pilings, the building is leaning and threatened by flooding, hurricanes, and climate-related damage. Urgent foundation repairs are needed to preserve this historic landmark and prevent its loss to development. Saving the club protects New Jersey’s maritime heritage and ensures future generations can continue to connect with this cultural and community icon.
