Talks with our Ten Most: Historic Barns

Join Preservation New Jersey for the next installment of Talks with Our Ten Most, a virtual series highlighting sites included on the 2026 Ten Most Endangered Historic Places in New Jersey list.

This program will spotlight the 2026 nominated 1878 Barn, exploring its history, architecture, and connection to New Jersey’s agricultural heritage. The discussion will also use the site to examine the unique challenges of barn preservation throughout New Jersey, from deterioration and deferred maintenance to changing agricultural practices, development pressures, rehabilitation costs, and the difficulty of finding viable new uses for historic agricultural structures.

Hear from local advocates and preservation partners about why the 1878 Barn was selected for the 2026 Ten Most list, efforts to secure its future, and the broader tools and strategies available for preserving New Jersey’s increasingly vulnerable historic barns and agricultural landscapes.

The presentation will conclude with a Q&A and discussion with attendees.
